Our Heirloom Events are thoughtfully designed as back-to-back portrait appointments, creating an efficient yet meaningful experience for each family. Each child is photographed individually, typically taking 5–15 minutes to capture timeless, expressive imagery. Immediately following your session, you’ll spend about 10–15 minutes viewing 5-10 color and black and white portraits per child, selecting your custom frame, and personalizing any keepsake add-ons. Once your order is finalized and payment is complete, you’ll receive the digital version of each framed image to enjoy right away while your handcrafted frame and heirloom products are being created.

The Process
We’ll photograph each child for 5–10 minutes and also any add sibling images if desired. I love to capture each child's portraits from various angles including front facing, angles and their side profiles.

After payment, I will edit your images and order your handcrafted heirlooms. Your digital images are returned within a week while you wait for your heirloom pieces that take 4-8 weeks to design and deliver.

Heirloom sessions were created so people could have portraits of their children that they could hang on their wall and pass down from generation to generation. Part of your sitting fee includes a studio consultation to help you select a frame that you and your family are sure to enjoy for a lifetime.

There is no preferred age for these photos, they just have to be able to sit up. I am comfortable photographing 3 month old babies in this manner all the way up to high school seniors. I have observed that after age 5 children may struggle with smiling naturally but I promise no matter the age of your child (or smile!) you will treasure a classic photo of them forever.
As a toddler mom myself, please understand I feel very comfortable and have a great deal of experience photographing wiggly children. Some children respond well to the promise of a surprise treat at the end of the session. When the treat is a surprise (as opposed to knowing exactly what it is ahead of time) I find they are more compliant. I find that Sweet Tarts are a great photo session bribe as they do not leave colored stain on teeth, hands, or clothing!
On average 10-20 minutes per session. I find that most children this age cannot sit still longer than 5 minutes at a time, so I work fast during these sessions and know how to recognize when we've reached a child's photo limits. After your session, we will look at your images, select your favorites, then customize any artwork and upgrades.
Yes! I have complimentary wardrobe options! You may show up with your child in PJ's if that is easiest! I have options and also clickable links to purchase tops/dresses too after booking. Otherwise, I recommend wearing a snickered or Peter Pan collar for boys. Avoid polos, or any type of graphic tee. For girls, make sure their dresses or shirts include a collar of some sort.
You know those shoes that you don't like but your child loves? Let her wear 'em. For heirloom pictures, I photograph the middle of their torso to the top of their head, so they will not be in the shot. This will be fantastic for toddler compliance ;)
I do offer sibling photos! For $300, you can include multiple siblings. The sibling package includes 2 digital images OR $150 artwork credit. Additional images are purchased separate.
Session fee is non-refundable to reserve your session slot. Heirloom portraits are only offered specific dates each year.
Yes! The intention of this session is to create an heirloom keepsake to last generations. You receive one digital image or a credit to put towards framed wall art or a folio album to ensure this is enjoyed to the fullest.
